Etymology: from bios ("life") and Onyx, as in electronics, the study of mechanical systems that function like living organisms or parts thereof.

Bionics That is, a member impersonation?, No, rather a Restoration a style of life, something much more valuable to a person who lost a part of your body. Well, now, that's all this? Bionics is it necessary?, something unusual? ...

Well No, by definition Bionics has existed long before the invention of the internal combustion engine, so? for if we turn to recall the definition of Bionic "Every mechanical system that emulates a biological" (remember those fairy tales where the peg leg pirate forced to walk to their victims in the table, well we can consider that wooden leg an emulation of a human leg), we find classic examples, but so obvious that we long for our daily work.

Now What were the limitations of Bionic? The incredible complexity of the human body. This is to give you tools to humans, but are still very rudimentary, is like comparing a candle to the stunning complexity of Mother Nature. Still, at least those who use them can hold the candle. And some may even see it flashing in the dark.
